名字是因为Rowling的发音和我的中文名字是很像的。
虽然我也确实有看“哈利波特”。
你看不懂是因为语言使用习惯的问题，母语者一看就懂。
That is just like the difference between Formal English and Oral English.

我觉得 “要是我能有中文名字，我喜欢有一个好的。”  所以，我叫我“武松。”

If you get to choose an English name for yourself, you should choose something cool like "Hercules," or "Beowulf," or "Lancelot" to make it even.  

这些cool名字是来自英国文学作品吗？好像都是勇士的名字。。。对我来说选英文名字有点难因为我不知道每个名字后面都是什么意思。所以我只能选个好听的或者容易记的。

Are these cool names you listed from English literature works?  Seems they belongs to those heroes.
It's a little bit hard for me to choose an English name cuz I don't know the background stories for each of the English names. So I can only choose one that sounds good or can be easily remembered.

Hercules   = “大力士”， 一位古希腊勇士。
Lancelot   是一位大侠的“亚瑟王”。
And, according to the Internet,  Beowulf = "贝奥伍尔弗（创作于8世纪的古代英国民间叙事诗《贝奥伍尔弗》中的主人公）"

     我觉得你能看几个电影，还是看几个“儿童书”   (That is how American children learn about these stories.)  

     I think "Beowulf" and "Hercules" stories are similar to Chinese “快扳” stories, like "水浒传".

  Luckily, Americans love to to online and look for baby names;  I think this is an American hobby.  You could use these websites to find an English name.

   (On some of the websites, you can search by "meaning."  Maybe this could help translate a Chinese name.)

Next Monday from 3:00 - 4:00 on the fourth floor of the library, the Chinese-language-speaking student group is having a meeting!  Everybody can come and practice speaking (Chinese and English), and get to know new friends.  Hooray!
